Ms. Annabelle Yu Long is the Chief Executive of Bertelsmann China Corporate Center. She also leads Bertelsmann Asia Investments (BAI) as Managing Director. She has been appointed as a member of Bertelsmann Group Management Committee (GMC) since December, 2011.
In 2011, Annabelle was named as Young Global Leader (YGL) by World Economic Forum (WEF). She’s an active member of World Economic Forum’s Media, Entertainment and Information Industry Steering Committee.
Annabelle sits on the board of several companies including BMG Music, Bitauto (NYSE: BITA), China Distance Education (NYSE: DL), Optimix and etc.
Annabelle joined Bertelsmann since 2005 from New York, where she worked as a Principal at Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments. Prior to that, Ms. Long worked in the Corporate Development team for Random House.
Annabelle started her career as a TV anchor and then became a producer for a variety of highly rated, award-winning television and radio programs in China.
Annabelle holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BSEE from the University of Electronic Science and Technology in China.
Wayne Shiong
Partner at Bertelsmann Asia Investments (BAI)
Wayne Shiong is a Partner at Bertelsmann Asia Investments (BAI). Prior to joining BAI, Wayne is a Partner with WI Harper Group, a prestigious China-focused venture capital firm. Previously, Wayne was the China Consultant to Piper Jaffray's equity research team where he worked directly with Safa Rashtchy and was responsible for the TMT sectors covering companies in Internet, advertising, wireless services, and online gaming markets. Before Piper Jaffray, he was a co-founder of Xel Ltd., a Bluetooth start-up funded by Mobile Internet (Asia), where he was in charge of fundraising and international business development. He helped bring WIDCOMM, the leader in Bluetooth protocol stacks that was subsequently acquired by Broadcom (NASDAQ: BRCM) in 2003, into China. Prior to founding Xel Ltd., Wayne served as an analyst at Yungenghu & Company, a Beijing-based financial advisory firm, where he was involved in developing business plans and financial models for domestic clients across many traditional sectors.
Wayne was born and raised in Beijing. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Peking University.
Theresa Yu
Senior Director of Business Development
Theresa Yu is the Senior Director of Business Development for Bertelsmann Asia Investments and also the Senior Director of Finance Controlling for Bertelsmann China Corporate Center. Prior to Bertelsmann, she worked with DuPont, Merrill Lynch, Cisco and Ernst & Young etc., accumulated more than ten years of experience in business development, merger & acquisition, financial services and corporate finance areas.
Ms. Yu holds an MBA from Washington University in St. Louis and BEc from Central University of Finance & Economics.
Dora Yi
Investment Manager
Dora Yi is an Investment Manager with Bertelsmann Asia Investments (BAI). Prior to joining BAI, Dora worked at McKinsey & Company Beijing Office. She had experiences of corporate strategy development, organization structure design, M&A evaluation and etc., specialized in TMT and healthcare industries. She also worked for private equity clients on fund setup and Bertelsmann Asia Investments due diligence.
Dora received MSc of Economics from University of Southampton. Before that she graduated from College of Economics at Peking University.
Jason Ding
Investment Manager
Jason Ding is an Investment Manager with Bertelsmann Asia Investments (BAI). Prior to joining BAI, Jason was an Associate at China Growth Capital, a leading financial advisory firm and angel fund in China, where he mainly covered private placement deals in Education, BPO and Software related industries. Jason started his career as a technology consultant in Accenture.
Jason received a bachelor degree in Software Engineering from Nanjing University. He is also a CFA charter holder.
Vincent Hsu
Investment Manager
Vincent Hsu is an Investment Manager with Bertelsmann Asia Investments (BAI). Prior to joining BAI, Vincent was an Associate Vice President in the Strategy and Development Group at STAR Group (News Corporation's Asia Subsidiary).
Prior to joining STAR Group, Vincent spent several years at Morgan Stanley Asia in their investment banking division in the Communications and Media and TMT Groups.
Vincent received bachelor degrees in Political Science and Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
Ming Zhao
Business Development Associate
Business Development Associate with BAI. Prior to joining BAI, Ming worked at Roland Berger, a global leading strategy consulting firm, and accumulated experiences in corporate strategy, branding, operation and M&A areas, specialized in consumer goods and logistics service industries.
Ming received a master degree in Finance and Accounting from Nanjing University.
